Our Leadership
Our church structure has undergone some major changes recently and we are in the early stage of its implementation.
This structure combines the elders, the pastors and deacons together with members of the various ministry teams coming together as the "Leadership Team" with seven "Ministry Boards" covering all the aspects of church life ministry.
The Elders (including the Pastors) provide the spiritual leadership and direction of the church fellowship. They are responsible to God for the spiritual welfare of the church and are committed to leading and caring for us in order to bring glory to God.
We have team of Pastors ministering to our church and their details are below.
The Deacons have a more administrative role in heading up the "Ministry Boards". These Ministry Boards are responsible for a particular aspect of church life and may have one or more "Ministry Teams" which carry out the daily function of that area.
These Ministry Boards are still in the process of being formed. For more information about the church structure and how you can be involved, please contact the church office or one of the Elders, Pastors or Deacons.
Associate Pastor - John Ramsden
John Ramsden has been married to his lovely wife Flerina for over 28 years and has three children: Melody - a school teacher and married to Paul Lewis; Coby - a midwife at Box Hill Hospital; and Samuel - an apprentice electrician.
John and his family have worshipped at Canterbury Gardens Community Church for over 10 years. During that time he has been involved with the youth leadership team. He has also contributed to the church's music and worship ministry areas.
During 2009 he began to serve the church as an Associate Pastor in the area of pastoral care as well as continuing to lead worship on Sunday mornings. He is always ready to chat to or pray for anyone of any age about anything.
Associate Pastor - Shebu John
Shebu and his wife, Bek, have been attending Canterbury Gardens Community Church for a while.
During the past four years he has served with Campus Crusade for Christ's university student ministry, Student Life.
Shebu loves hanging out with his wife, friends and watching the footy. Shebu's heart desire is to make Jesus known locally, nationally and Internationally and to see young adults grow to savor Jesus above all else in their life. He is also passionate about church planting.
He is currently studying part-time at Ridley College. In 2009, Shebu took on the role of part-time associate pastor focusing on ministry, outreach and discipleship with Young Adult Leaders.
